Manav needs immediate heart operation

Manav is 5 years old, living at Nangla Govardhanpur (Tarsi, mathura). About 4 years ago he was diagnosed with A ventricular septal defect (VSD) — sometimes referred to as a hole in the heart.  It is a type of congenital heart defect in which there is an abnormal opening in the dividing wall between the main pumping chambers of the heart (the ventricles). Because of this, Manav has problem breathing, his skin, nails and tongue turns blue(especially when he cries).

Manav's parents are workers at a construction site and get paid about $3.00 or less per day. With this money they are trying to make both ends meet. The mother has lost two children(a boy and a girl), in the past to sickness. Manav is now their only child. They have been trying to avoid his operation as it is quite expensive for their pocket, however, recently Manav's health has been going down and therefore, they have turned to Food for Life for help.

The doctors have estimated the cost of operation to about $4500. Out of this amount, $1500 have been waived by the hospital management after seeing their condition and the parents have saved about $1000 USD for this. The remainder of about $2000, however, still needs to be covered. We are requesting anyone willing to help to contact us as soon as possible. You can even directly give at http://www.fflvrindavan.org/en/donate.html . Please specify who the donation is for in the column given on the page.

We look forward to hearing from you.
