Abandoned baby needs your help

On April 29, Mathura police found a new born baby girl in the bushes at the New Bus Stand railway crossing.

The baby seemed to have been born prematurely and had mosquito bites all over her body. Mathura police brought her to a local hospital, Brij Nursing Home in Mathura. The doctors weighted her at only 1.2 kg (2.64 lbs) and she was suffering from severe jaundice.

She was kept in ICU for 8-10 days then she was presented before Child Welfare Committee in Mathura. After a long discussion they passed an order to place her in the protection of Sandipani Muni Orphanage.

She came to us on May 5, and because she seemed to be severely sick; we took her to Vatsalya Hospital for another examination. The doctor found that she has severe jaundice and needs intensive care, so she is being given photo therapy.

So far we have spent more then Rs.8000 ($148 US) and she need to be kept there at least a week. All together doctor gave an estimate around Rs.20,000 ($370 US). Please help us care for this small girl.
