EMERGENCY FUND

.

Dearest blog viewers,

We often get two or even three urgent cases at once and we are left wondering how to get the money quickly enough to get them all treated in time, or having to choose which case is the most urgent when all are almost equally urgent and desperate.

In order to avoid this problem, we would like to start an emergency fund. We are aiming to raise one Rs 1 lakh (US$2500), so that we can cover one big operation or several small ones until donors come forward to replace the funds.

The fund will have a separate account and will also earn interest, allowing us to treat even more cases in future.

It breaks my heart to have to tell people to wait until we collect the funds before we can help them when they need help right away. And really the only possible solution is to create this “emergency fund”.

Please help us to raise this money so that we can provide a more humane service to people who lack any means of getting help, even for deadly or crippling illnesses.

One of the major donors for Savita - Bharat ji and his family – have agreed transfer their $500 for the emergency fund. So we have just $2000 to go before we reach our aim.

By donating to this fund, you will not just be helping one person, you will be donating to a fund that will be used over and over again to help hundreds of sick and desperate people.

I know I can count on your support,

Yours,

Rupa.
